Michael D. Davis


Michael D. "Mad Dog" Davis, 56, of Springfield, died unexpectedly Tuesday evening, July 8, 2008 in his residence.

He was born in Springfield 18, 1952 the son of the late William R. and Virginia (Hennis) Davis Sr.

Mike worked at Eby Brown Inc. for 38 years. He was a huge Chicago Bears fan.

Survivors include his three children, Michelle (Aaron) Swyers of Fairborn, Michael (Roxanne) Davis II of Urbana and Benjamin Z. Davis of Urbana; step daughters, Sue Annette Lambert and Shelly Lambert; a sister, Jenny Deal of Springfield; two brothers, William R. (Tina) Davis Jr. and Craig A. Davis, all of Springfield; grandchildren, Gavin, Caden, Cole and Madison Davis and Teleah, Abigail and Serenity Swyers; step grandchildren, Tisha, Jamie, Floyd, Alberta, Ashley, and Ian; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley (Lambert) Davis.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-8 p.m. Friday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with Pastor Craig Grammer officiating.
