James A. Doogs
James A. Doogs, 82 of Springfield died Monday, April 6, 2009 in the Springfield Regional Medical Center High St Campus. He was born in Atwood, IL on January 25, 1927, the son of Albert A. and Evaleigh P. (Clapp) Doogs.
Mr. Doogs was a retired self-employed carpenter and a 50 plus year member of English Lodge #622 F & AM, Lexington, IN. He served his country in the US Navy during World War II. Mr. Doogs was also an accountant and he had his pilot's license.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Donald Doogs, and two sisters Mildred Arbuckle and Mary Doogs.
His survivors include his wife Marilyn J. (Bussey) Doogs, whom he married July 26, 1947, two daughters and sons-in-law Brenda (Max) Anderson, Rhonda (Monte) Glass, one son and daughter-in-law Mickey (Jeff) Doogs all of Springfield, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Family and friends may call Thursday from 6-8 pm in the Richards, Raff & Dunbar Memorial Home with Masonic memorial services by Antony Lodge #455 F & AM at 8:00pm. Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 am in the memorial home with Rev. William Reisenweaver officiating. Entombment to follow in Rose Hill Mausoleum.
