Jerry D. Detrick
Jerry D. Detrick, 70, of Bridge City, Texas passed away January 4, 2009 at Wuesthoff Hospice and Palliative Care Unit in Rockledge, Florida. He was born on October 25, 1938 in Dayton, Ohio to parents Byron and Catherine Detrick.
Jerry was a graduate of Tecumseh High School and 40 year resident of New Carlisle. A United States Air Force veteran, he worked in sales, machine shops, and ship yards before retiring as a machinist in 1999. An avid outdoorsman and nature enthusiast he spent most of his days on the water until his health failed. He loved his family and was very proud of his children and grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Melissa Milligan, and brother-in-law, Michael P. McManus of Okeechobee, FL.
He is survived by his son, Stephen E. Detrick and wife Sharon of Merritt Island, FL, sister, Nancy L. McManus of New Carlisle, OH, and former wife Bobbie Detrick of Uniontown, OH. Jerry also leaves a loving legacy of 6 beautiful granddaughters, Jaime Moulder, Emilee Detrick, Sarah Seal Nolen, Angela Detrick, April Detrick, Rachel Detrick, and 1 great granddaughter, Peyton Trevino.
A memorial service will be held at Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home, 507 W. Jefferson Street, New Carlisle, OH on Friday, January 23, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. by Pastor R.C. McDonald of Crossroad Baptist Church. Family and friends welcomed at 2:00 p.m.
