Betty Jane Dill

Betty Jane (Chronister) Dill, 88, of Utah and formerly of Springfield returned to her Father in Heaven on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 with her family surrounded by her side.

Betty was born January 23, 1920 in Springfield, Ohio, the only daughter of Charles Flago and Helen Marie (Powell) Chronister.

She graduated from South High School in 1938. On a blind date Betty met and married the love of her life, Richard Ray Dill, son of Ray and Agatha (Dixon) Dill, formerly of Urbana. Tragically Dick preceded her in death in 1961 and her beloved brother, Charles Edgar Chronister in 1990. As a young woman Betty loved music and cherished singing in the Springfield Covenant Presbyterian Church Choir for many years. Betty loved her family and spent her life in their service. She also loved roses, reading and the color purple, in all its shades. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints diligently serving in many capacities. She loved the Savior, Jesus Christ.

Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Jean Rogers of Boise, Idaho and Karen Sue Tesch of Sandy, Utah; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 5, 2008 at 11 a.m. in the Ferncliff Cemetery.

The family is being served by the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.
