Thomas A. Collins


Thomas A. Collins, 66, of Springfield, formerly of Dayton, died unexpectedly at 12:06 p.m. Wednesday March 4, 2009 in Springfield Regional Hospital. He was born February 14, 1934 in Middletown, OH to Paul Collins and Ann (Pallo) Collins Reitz.

Tom was employed with Navistar for the past 38 years. He was a member of U.A.W. local 402, a fishing and animal enthusiast and was a U.S. Army Veteran.

Survivor include his wife of 41 years, Virginia "Ginny" (Trissel); 2 children, Doug Collins, Springfield and Tracey (Dave) Leskowyak, Columbus, OH; 4 grandchildren whom is dearly loved, Doug Collins, Jr., Kyle, Ryan and Anna Leskowyak; a sister, Margaret (John) Craig, Dayton, OH; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Friends may call in the Conroy Funeral Home from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with Fr. Ed Gearhart officiating. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
