Richard A. Cozad


Richard A. Cozad, 86, of Springfield, died Thursday February 7, 2008 in Mercy St. John's Center. He was born January 13, 1922 in Springfield, Ohio, the son of John Martin and Pearl (Smithson) Cozad.

He served his country during World War II in the United States Army. He served in the 1st Infantry Tank Division. Dick retired from International Truck and Engine / Navistar after thirty-two years of service in 1982. He was a fifty-five year member of St. Andrew's Lodge 619 Free and Accepted Masons.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and David Love of Centerville and grandson, Bretney D. Love of Las Vegas, Nevada; two great-granddaughters, Lauren and Ava; brother, Roy Cozad of Barnesville, Ohio and sister Erma Sue Cozad of Springfield. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife of fifty-three years, Mildred B. (McElroy) Cozad.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday February 11, 2008 in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. A gathering of family and friends will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.
