Reathel R. Clevenger


Reathel R. Clevenger, 78, of Springfield, passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2007 in the Community Hospital.

She was born on August 26, 1928 in Paintsville, Kentucky, the daughter of Frank and Mayhala (Scarbury) Daniels.

She was a member of the Forest Valley Freewill Baptist Church. Reathel was a very talented seamstress and was known as the "Goose Lady" for creating clothing for concrete geese. She also enjoyed making ceramics.

She is survived by her husband of eighteen years, Haskell "Jack" Clevenger of Springfield; two daughters and sons-in-law, Esther R. and Douglas Titlow of Paintsville, Kentucky and Alice and Emil Leach of Springfield; one son and daughter-in-law, Roy T. and Carlynee Clevenger of Mableton, Georgia; eighteen grandchildren, Will (Shea) Titlow, Mike (Pris) Titlow, Mike, David, Jeff, Chris, Brad, Lisa, Melinda, Melissa, Yvonne, Dwayne, Roger, Dale, Renee', Connie, Chad, and Michelle; thirty-six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Howard Richmond; one son, Harold Edward Clevenger; two sisters; and three brothers.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, June 10, 2007 from 3-6 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1:00 p.m. in the Forest Valley Freewill Baptist Church, 1175 Upper Valley Pike. Pastor Mike Stokes is officiating.

Entombment will be in the Rose Hill Mausoleum.
