Ruby P. Chiles


Ruby P. Chiles, 90, of Springfield passed away peacefully in her home Sunday, December 28, 2008. She was born in Clark County January 4, 1918, the daughter of Chester and Margaret (Hallan) Lewis.

Mrs. Chiles had worked at the Hickory Inn and the Ohio Masonic Home.

She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law William and Pat Chiles, Gerald R. and Carlene Chiles all of Springfield and Terry L. and Janice Chiles of Jamestown, Tennessee; one daughter and son-in-law Beverly and Lou Compton of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers and a sister-in-law Robert and Mavis Lewis and Richard Lewis all of Springfield; one sister Anna Hinkle of Springfield; twelve grandchildren Lisa (Phil) Fairbank of Palm Bay, Florida, Lori (Joe) Sheeran of Ellensburg, Washington, Lynn Simonelli of Springfield, Dieter Kopf of New Carlisle, Sherry L. (David) Rosseland of Vandalia, Teresa (Terry) Roy of Urbana, Julie (Kent) of Springfield, Terry Chiles, Jr. and Tim (Bobby) Chiles of Canal Winchester, Ohio, Beth (Larry) Evener and Kim (Steve) Colliton of Pataskala, Ohio, and Jeannette Castle of Huber Heights, numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Burley Chiles; daughter Vikki Wilson; grandson John Chiles; brothers Russell, Chester, Jr. and Edward Lewis; and a sister Audrey Nickell.

Friends may call Friday from 12-2 PM. in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. Memorial services will be held Friday at 2:00 PM. in the Memorial Home. Inurnment will be in Enon Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Chiles' name to Hospice of Dayton.
