Roger W. Carr


Roger W. Carr, 74, of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2008 in the Good Shepard Village.

He was born on November 1, 1933 in Springfield, the son of Ben Carr and Faye (Wilson) Agle.

He retired from Vernay Lab in Yellow Springs after thirty-two years of service, and after building their last home, he worked for the Springfield Country Club for five years. Roger also was a local locksmith for several years. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking.

He is survived by his loving wife of forty-two years, Janet I. (Litzenberg) Carr of Springfield, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Bill and Crystal Carr of Wilmington, and Bobby Carr of Springfield; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandie and Jerry Witt of Fairborn, and Sharon and Marvin Amburgey of Springfield, three step daughters and a step son-in-law that adored him, Cindy and Butch Miller of Springfield, Tamera Whalen Ritchie of Beavercreek, and Dianna Edward of Worthington; fourteen grandchildren, sixteen, great grandchildren, aunts, Catherine, Laura, and Dona Wilson, several cousins, and one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gail and Mary Litzenberg of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two aunts, and five uncles.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2008 from 4-6 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME with services to follow visitation at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Barney Riffel officiating.
