Robert L. Canter


Robert L. "Bob" Canter, 79, of Springfield, passed away at 8:50 AM Monday, May 5, 2008 in Mercy Medical Center.

He was born January 4, 1929 in Springfield, the son of Roy and Clara (Burrow) Canter.

Mr. Canter enjoyed fishing and carpentry work and was a Veteran of the Army during the Korean War. He was retied from SPECO.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Janice (Pendleton) Canter, two children; Robin (Mark) Cowles and Mark (Sheryl) Canter all of Springfield, six grandchildren; Robert, Stephanie, Katrina, Kristin, Jonathan and Jacob, nine great grandchildren, two sisters Janet Baker, Springfield, and Virginia (Richard) Baker, Terre Haute and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister Donna Wiant and his parents. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are being handled by the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME.
