Norma Jean Cooper


Norma Jean Cooper, 78, of Springfield passed away Thursday morning, October 9, 2008 in the Springfield Regional Medical Center-East High Street Campus.

She was born March 30, 1930 in Waterloo, Ohio, the daughter of Jacob Atwood and Martha Viola (Shepherd) Miller. She retired from the Clark County Auditors Office. Norma was a very loving and caring mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her two daughters and son-in-law, Lee Ann Cooper of Springfield and Doris and Art Osgatharp of Plano, Texas; one son and very special daughter-in-law, Paul and Melanie Cooper of Springfield; three sisters, Bertha Walters Gilliland, Dorothy Bostick and Janet Shuff; two brothers, Ivan and James Miller; four grandchildren, Nathan Cooper, Catherine (Tim) Hinkle, Leann Osgatharp and Melissa Gaul; two great grandchildren, Brendan Hinkle and Mitchell Gaul and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Cooper in March of 2001; numerous siblings and one great granddaughter, Kaley Hinkle.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2008 from 3-4 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will begin at 4 p.m. in the funeral home.
