James K. Comer


James K. Comer, 44, of Springfield, went to be with the Lord Saturday morning, May 17, 2008 in his residence. He was born in Springfield on October 19, 1963 the son of Reaford James and Patty Ruth (Walters) Comer. Jim worked as a carpenter.

Survivors in addition to his parents of Springfield include his wife of 18 years, Donna A. (Moore) Comer; three daughters, Siera of Troy and April and Jessica both of Springfield; two sons, Joseph and Shawn Tackett of Springfield; three grandsons whom he adored, Brandon, Blake and Bailey Tackett; three sisters, Patsy Lockhart and Penny Comer, both of Troy and Jill (Brian) Roberts of Springfield; and three brothers, Larry Comer of Springfield, Chuck (Alyce) Comer of South Vienna, and Cecil Scott of LaSalle, Illinois. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles and cousins including a special cousin, Dan Comer; many nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Diane (Andy) Davis of Springfield; and a dear friend, Darren Preston.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3-7 p.m. Thursday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. A celebration of Jim's life will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Bud Rose officiating.
