James R. Cantrell


James R. "Tim" Cantrell, 66, of Springfield, Ohio went home to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at 5:05 AM. He was born December 12, 1942 in West Liberty, Kentucky the son of Mance and Maglene (Conley) Cantrell.

James lived in Springfield most of his life, attended Springfield Schools and the International Pentecostal Church of Christ, worked as a truck driver for many years, ending his career for the last fifteen years as a self-employed antique dealer.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of forty-eight years Darlene (Planck) Cantrell; two sons and daughters-in-law Russell and Suzanne Cantrell of Circleville, Ohio and Timothy and Amy Cantrell of Cincinnati, Ohio; his brother John Cantrell of Springfield; grandchildren Erin, Kaitlin, Lauren and Jacob Cantrell; a great grandson Isaac James Cantrell; sisters-in-law Deborah Cantrell and Joyce (Stan) Eberly of Springfield and Judy (Jim) Brooks of Shallotte, North Carolina; four aunts Mildred, Ethel, Juell and Elinor Conley of Springfield; many special nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Ray Cantrell.

James was a generous man of his word, a hard worker, wonderful provider, a loving husband, father and papaw.

Friends may call Friday from 5-8 PM. in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 AM. in the Memorial Home with Pastor Richard Blevins officiating. Interment will be in Ferncliff Cemetery until Resurrection Day!

The Cantrell family would like to express their sincere thanks to Pastor and Mrs. Blevins, all the Doctors, Nurses and Hospice staff for their loving care of James.
