Frank Cornell, Jr.


Frank Cornell Jr., 68 of Springfield, went to be with the Lord, on Wednesday, October 10, 2007 in the Mercy Medical Center.

He was born on October 6, 1939 in Washington Court House, Ohio the son of Frank Sr. and Goldie (Beatty) Cornell.

He served our country in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. Frank was in trucking for over twenty years with Active U.S.A., a member of the Springfield Church of Christ and the Teamsters Retirees Club.

He is survived by his wife of forty-five years, Phyllis (Baker) Cornell, one daughter and son-in-law, Dana and John Wohlman of Idaho, one son and daughter-in-law, F. Jeffrey and Marie Cornell of Springfield, six sisters: Ruth Masters, Kathleen Miller, Kathy Arledge, Dorothy Miller, Mary DeWeese, and Helen McConnaughey; three brothers: Clarence Cornell, Paul Cornell, and Harry Lewis; six grandchildren: Jennifer, Kaitlyn, Hannah, and Hailey Wohlman, and Jeffrey and Emily Cornell, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters: Margaret, Josephine, and Bessie; and two brothers, Frank James and Calvin.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, October 12, 2007 from 6-8 pm in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, at 11:00 am in the Springfield Church of Christ, 1620 Buck Creek Lane, with Pastor Mike Surgenor officiating. Friends may also call one hour prior to the time of service at the church.

Burial will be in the Terre Haute Cemetery.
