William "Hillbilly" Ballard


William "Hillbilly" Ballard, 71, of Springfield, died Wednesday October 31, 2007 in his residence.

He was born February 10, 1936 in Olive Hill, Kentucky, the son of R.A. and Wanda Maxine (Jessee) Ballard.

He was former owner of National Trail Body Shop.

Survivors include his wife Phyllis (Allen) Ballard; three daughters and sons-in-law, Billie Ballard and Kurt Swayne of Springfield; Debra and Richard Metzger of New Carlisle; Rhonda and David Lyle of Springfield; sister and brother-in-law, Carol Lee and Richard Stalinski of Dayton; brother, Terry Stout of Dayton; four grandchildren and spouses, Heather McClintock and fiancée Paul Pillers of North Hampton; Stacia and Garth Musgrove of New Carlisle; Miranda and Austin Moore of Springfield; Chris Lyle of Springfield; great-grandchildren, Ericka Litteral and one on the way; his good friend Dale Page and numerous friends, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and his best friends Donnie Bowshier, Gary and Larry.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday in LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday November 5, 2007, with Pastor Gary Noble, officiating.

Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
