Thyrsa A. "Terry" Ballantyne


Thyrsa A. "Terry" Ballantyne, 92, formally of Gulfport, Florida passed away on November 6, 2008 in Oakwood Village.

She was born on June 9, 1916 in Little Rock, Arkansas, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. (DeFord) Amos.

She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1937 and went on to work at the school for over twenty-five years in Alumni Relations. Thyrsa was proud of her independence and her travels all over Europe. She also held a real estate license and was active with clients until recently. During the last forty years, she enjoyed her summer home near Derry, PA.

She is survived by her daughter, Dee Ballantyne of Springfield, and three grandchildren, Tracy, Steve, and Andy Spencer.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James C. Ballantyne.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family in Pennsylvania. The family is being served by the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY.
