Robert L. (Bob) Bishop


Robert L. (Bob) Bishop, 59, of New Carlisle, Ohio passed away unexpectedly Wednesday evening February 6, 2008.

He was born February 13, 1948 in Troy Ohio. The son of Homer and Dorothy (Thackery) Bishop.

Bob graduated from Northwestern High school and enlisted in the United State Air Force serving four years with the 4392 Civil Engineering Squadron in California. He returned to Ohio and began his career in farming. Along with farming he was an active member of Donnelscreek Church of the Brethren serving as deacon and many other board and committees. He served and chaired on the Clark County Jail Chaplaincy Board for seven years and was a member of the Clark County Ohio Farm Bureau.

He is survived by his wife, Constance (Hartman) Bishop which he married on August 12, 1972; three children, Monica (Matt) Jamison, Jason (Katie) Bishop all of New Carlisle, Erica (Ryan) Hillard of Urbana, Ohio; grandchildren, Kyle & Blake Jamison, Brynn & Brock Bishop and Emma Hillard. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

A gathering of friends and family will be held 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday February 10, 2008 at TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio. The funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday at Donnelscreek Church of the Brethren with Pastor Tad Hobert officiating. Burial will follow at Emanuel Cemetery Association at the corner of Ansbaugh Road and Ayres Pike. Memorial contributions may be made to The Donnelscreek Church of the Brethren.
