Norma Jean Boggs
Norma Jean Boggs, 74, of Springfield, died at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, November 11, 2008 in Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus. She was born in Springfield on March 6, 1934 the daughter of Michael J. and Irene (Howell) Doyle.
She worked as a produce clerk for Big Bear for 25 years and later worked as a hostess at Perkins for many years. She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir. She volunteered at Mercy Medical Center, St. Vincent De Paul's Caring Kitchen and was a tutor for the Literacy Center.
She is survived by five children and spouses, Paula (Alan) Diedrich of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Linda (Andy) Stage of Springfield, Michael (Karen) Boggs of Mechanicsburg, William (Barbara) Boggs and Doug (Jennifer) Boggs all of Springfield; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Allen, Marge Boles, and Phylis Doyle.
Her family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday in CONROY FUNERAL HOME. A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Bernard Church with Fr. John Heim officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Second Harvest Food Bank.
