Mary E. Bush


Mary E. Bush, 88, of Springfield went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 14, 2009 in the Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was born in Breathitt County, Kentucky on May 17, 1920, the daughter of Herbert and Lucinda (Arrowood) Roberts.

Mary kept very busy as a loving wife and mother of eleven children and was a former member of the Apostolic Faith Church in Jesus Name.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John Bush, two daughters Mima and Lucinda Bush, one son Elden Bush, one grandson Timothy Boyd, one sister Louise Bush, and one brother Eldon Roberts.

Mary has left to cherish her memory five daughters Mable Hostetler of Springfield, Betty (Larry) McCombs of Urbana, Kathy (Charles) Phares of Springfield, Joyce Early of Cincinnati, and Debbie (Howard) Self of Springfield, three sons Paul (Joyce Hurst) Bush of Springfield, James (Laura) Bush of Urbana, and John Bush, Jr. of Springfield, nineteen grandchildren including Mary (Jayson) Jackson whom she raised, twenty-nine great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews including a special nephew Virgil (Wanda) Bush.

Family and friends may call Wednesday from 5-8 PM in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. A Celebration of Mary's life will be Thursday at 10:30AM in the First Assembly of God with Rev. Bud Rose officiating. Burial to follow in Ferncliff Cemetery.

Mary's family would like to thank the Community-Mercy Hospice Staff and 3 South nursing staff at the Springfield Regional Medical Center for their loving care and support. Memorial contributions are requested to the Community-Mercy Hospice.
