Marjorie Eileen Burke


Marjorie Eileen (Woodard) Burke who was a resident at Heartland of Springfield, passed away November 26, 2008. Marjorie was born in Springfield, Ohio to Harry and Ida Woodard December 10, 1915.

She attended Tremont City School and was a graduate of Lawrenceville High School. After retiring from Mercy Hospital she became a dedicated volunteer at the Elderly United in Springfield, Ohio.

Marjorie is survived by her beloved daughter June Elizabeth (Burke) Lightle, son-in-law James Lightle and grandsons Terry and Steve Lightle (Beth) and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also a very proud great grandmother of Nick Lightle, a student and marching band member at Kenton Ridge High School.

Preceding her in death were sisters Bernice Demint, Helen McIntyre , Anna Kissell and Dorothy Evilsizor and bothers Edwin (Bud) Woodard, William L. Woodard and infant brothers Robert and Harold.

Visitation will be held Sunday, November 30 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday in the funeral home with Pastor Walter Mock officiating, with interment at the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Tremont City, Ohio.

She was know as "grandma" at Heartland. The family wishes to thank all those who gave her such loving care.
