Martha Julie Brown


Martha Julie Brown, age 78 went to be with her Lord Tuesday, July 8, 2008. Julie was born May 2, 1930 to the late Eddie and Ethel (Dillon) Roberts in Morehead, KY.

She worshiped and served at the Maiden Lane Church of God for 40 years. Julie had a very strong work ethic which included 32 years at Shafer Bakery and 12 years of service at the Mueller Residential Center. She nurtured this dedicated ethic into a wonderful ministry. Julie helped clean the homes of friends, family and others and lifted their spirits along the way; up until a few weeks prior to her passing.

She is preceded in death by her late husband Paul Adkins, sons; Don Adkins, and Ricky Brown, parents, and nine siblings.

Julie is survived by her husband of 44 years, Ernie Brown, children; Charlotte Adkins(Larry)Shaw, Teresa Brown(Harold)Elliott, Randy(Kim)Brown, grandchildren; Shelley Smith, Trisha(Mark)Smith, Gretchen(Bryan)Elliott, and Michael(Katy)Shaw, Levi(Carissa)Elliott and Janice(Matt)Rainer, Breanna Brown, Brittany Brown, and Kelly Mann, 14 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, three brothers, one sister, a host of nieces and nephews, and her extended family at the Maiden Lane Church of God.

Friends may call at the Maiden Lane Church of God 1201 Maiden Lane Friday, July 11, 2008 from 4 to 7pm; where funeral service will be held 10:00am Saturday, July 12, 2008. Rev. Mark Martin will officiate. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Burial Park.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be given in Julie's memory to the Faith Promise Missions at the church. Arrangements completed by the JACKSON LYTLE WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME.
