Margaret G. Beach


Margaret G. Beach, 83, of Springfield, died at 5:30 p.m. Monday, August 13, 2007 in Mercy St. John's Center.

She was born in Springfield on July 4, 1924 the daughter of Edward W. and May S. (Norman) Gibson. She was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, Catholic Ladies of Columbia #207 and was an avid golfer and bowler who competed in local tournaments. She loved all outdoor activities, the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Reds.

Survivors include her husband, Bill; 5 children and spouses, Connie and Ed Metzger of Bellbrook, Ohio, Julie and Bill Michel of Clayton, Ohio, Bonni and Dale Compton of Mechanicsburg, Ohio, Susie and Howard Stein of Strongsville, Ohio and Bill and Sarah Beach of Springfield; sister-in-law, Josephine Gibson of Springfield; 14 grandchildren; Joe Metzger, Teresa Metzger, David Metzger, Amy Magan, Shelley Baldwin, Jeff Michel, Angie Barnes, Nick Michel, Andy Stathopoulos, Tina Edwards, Chris Compton, B.J. Beach, Maggie Beach and Elliott Beach; 15 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Mary Helen Gibson and Rita Landfried and her brother, Edward W. Gibson, Jr.

Her family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Mercy St. John's Center and Community Mercy Hospice for their loving care.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday in CONROY FUNERAL HOME with a Catholic Ladies of Columbia service at 4:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Teresa Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Teresa Church.
