Lonnie Bard

Lonnie Bard, 70, went home to be with the Lord following a courageous two-year battle with cancer.

Lonnie was proud to be baptized by his brother Jim and now goes to meet his Lord and Savior.

Mr. Bard will be remembered as a fun-loving man who enjoyed playing cards and finding ways to spend time with his family. He was a member of Clark Lodge Free and Accepted Masons. He enjoyed listening to country western music and has many fond memories associated with that, including his affinity for singing. He also enjoyed NASCAR racing and remained a Dale Earnhardt fan until the end.

Lonnie will be sadly missed and leaves to cherish his memory his wife Judy (Gabbard) Bard; his mother Ruth (Robison) Bard; children Robin (Larry) Delawder, Kelly (David) Layne, and James Howard Bard; step-children Ryan (Cathleen) Ruf, Timothy (Heather) Ruf, Kelly Wayne (Kim) Ruf, and Matthew (Parady) Ruf; 22 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 4 nephews, a brother Jim (Pat) Bard, all of Springfield, Aunts Glenna Owens of Springfield, and Naomi Murphy of Colorado; and special friends Ron and Kitty Clay, Tim Simmons, Dorothy and Charlie Baugh, Ralph (Daddy Rabbitt) Robertson, Cathy (Bob) Logan, Butch Delawder, Jerry Adams and countless other friends who will miss him dearly. He is preceded in death by his father Jim Bard and a brother David Allen Bard.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5pm to the time of Masonic services at 7pm in THE JONES KENNEY ZECHMAN Funeral Home. Following the Masonic Services, Pastor John Wilson will officiate a memorial service.
