Larry E. Baker


Larry E. Baker, 76, of Springfield, died at 8:26 a.m. Thursday, April 26, 2007 in his residence.

He was born January 22, 1931 in Middletown, Ohio to Frank and Margaret (Dennis) Baker. He had been employed at Ohio Bell as a repairman for a number of years retiring in 1986. He was a member of Anthony Lodge Free and Accepted Masons, V.F.W. Post 1031 and was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in the Korean War.

He is survived by two children and spouse, Christy Maine, Springfield and Dale & Lisa Baker, South Vienna; three grandchildren, Shari Maine, Erin Baker and Ryan Baker; three sisters and spouses, Joyce & Clifford Carr, Sanford, North Carolina, Brenda & Larry Bailey, Madison, Alabama and Margie Tomlinson, Fairborn, Ohio; one brother and spouse, Jerry & Carol Baker, Fairborn, Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley in 1996 and two brothers Ronald and Ralph. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Tassie McCuen who cared for Larry these last nine months.

Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday in the Conroy Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday in the funeral home with Roger Herrig officiating. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Mercy Hospice.
