John H.Bross


John H.Bross of Springfield, Ohio died May 8, 2008.

He was born October 12, 1918 in Gary, IN. to the late Henry and Flossie (Robinson) Bross.

He retired from International Harvester in 1981. John was a member of Oakland Presbyterian Church for over 50 years and was a Sunday school teacher, board member, and long time advisor to Boy Scout Troop 12 that met at the church. John is a United States Army veteran of WWII. He served with the 8th Air force, 392nd bomb group. He was the nose gunner on a B-24 and flew in 35 missions in Europe. After retirement, John served as a volunteer at the US Air Force Museum for over 15 years. He was a member of the St. Andrews Masonic Lodge for 65 years.

John is survived by his wife Betty (Jackson) Bross, of 66 years, sons Jim (Carol) Bross of Ft. Mill, SC., and Bill (Betty) Bross of Tipp City, OH., grandchildren; Jerrod (Wendy), Chris (Jen), Tim (Mandi), and Kirstin, great-grandchildren; Morgan, Jansen, Addison, and Cassady.

Funeral service 1:30pm Saturday, May 10, 2008 at the JACKSON LYTLE WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME 2425 N. Limestone with Pastor Tom Martin officiating. Family will receive friends from 10:00am Saturday until time of the service. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Burial Park.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in John's memory to your local Parkinson's society, or the Oakland Presbyterian Church.
