Joy Lynn Bowens


Joy Lynn Bowens, 32, of South Charleston went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 7, 2007 in her residence.

She was born May 4, 1975 in Springfield, the daughter of Jim Haslam and Jane (Remley) Hupp.

Joy was a graduate of Northeastern High School. She was a nurse aid at the Sharonview Nursing Home in South Vienna for several years and a member of the New Life Fellowship Church in London.

Joy will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend and will be sadly missed by all.

Survivors include her loving husband of eight years, Mike Bowens of South Charleston; mother, Jane (Bob) Hupp of Springfield; father, Jim (Joanna) Haslam of Springfield; two daughters, Paige and Skylyn Bowens both at home; one son, Jacob Bowens at home; one step-daughter, Jennifer (Brandon) Prater of South Vienna; two step-sons, Jeremy Miller of South Vienna and Adam Bowens of Marysville, Ohio; one sister, Jill Knox of Springfield; two step-sisters, Jackie (Danny) Devoe of South Charleston and Lisa Trivenoe of Texas; two step-brothers, Gary and David Dean both of Springfield; three grandchildren, Gracie Prater, William and Jonathan Miller and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Paul and Martha Remley.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2007 from 5-8 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Reverend Lynn Shunk officiating.

Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery.
