Grethel H. Brewer

It was early Sunday morning when Grethel H. Brewer continued on her journey to join the loved ones who have gone before her.

Born March 16, 1923 in Chillicothe, Ohio at Fort Sherman to Mont and Ethel (Damron) Hackney. One of twelve brothers and sisters she spent her young life in Crumb, West Virginia. She was married December 27, 1941 to James W. Brewer who preceded her in death October 1997.

They were the proud parents of two boys, Willard J. (Judith) Brewer, Sr., of Urbana, Ohio and Anthony Wayne Brewer who passed away in November 1993. She also leaves behind 3 grandchildren; Sherry L. Tyree, Springfield, Ohio, W. Tom Brewer Jr. and fiance Rose Masis of West Palm Beach, Florida and Amber N. Brewer of Springfield, Ohio, 5 great grandchildren, Robert E. Poplin, Chelsea E. Poplin, Ryan Owen, Logan Owen and Shane Brewer all of Springfield, Ohio, a sister Bertha Mendoza of Urbana, Ohio and a brother Carlos Richardson of Kentucky. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 397.

She enjoyed line dancing and clogging with the Wildwood Cloggers. In winter she looked forward to going to Florida where she had many friends.

The family would like to thank Bill Robinson and the staff of Villa Springfield Rehab Center for the excellent care and outstanding service she received while a patient there. This was truly a blessing for the family.
