Elmer R. Blair
Elmer R. Blair, 74, of Springfield, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Saturday afternoon, March 21, 2009 in the Springfield Regional Medical Center, East High Campus. He was born in Paintsville, Kentucky on November 4, 1934 the son of Hollie and Lizzie Blair.
He retired on December 1, 1996 from IVEX Corporation in Troy, Ohio following 29 years of service.
Survivors include three daughters, Deb Gross, of Springfield, Rhonda Ellis of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Sheila (Rich) Finnegan of Springfield; seven grandchildren, Faith (Ryan) Runkle, Jason (Melissa) Gross, Josh Gross, Katie and Kyle Ellis, and Casey and Cameron Finnegan; one great granddaughter, Payton Runkle; a sister, Geraldine Blair of New Carlisle; and his former wife, Dottie (Blair) Pascente. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James and Earl Blair; and sisters, Imogene O'Bryan, and Lorraine, Hannah and Pauline Blair.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-8 p.m. Monday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with Brother Ray Horton officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
