Donald E. Blevins


Donald E. Blevins, 84, of Springfield died Saturday, February 28, 2009 in the Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born in Springfield, Ohio on June 30, 1924, the son of William Harden and Bessie Mrytle (Rohrer) Blevins.

Don was a member of the Donnels Creek Church of the Brethren. He worked for Quick Manufacturing and later Toro, retiring from the William Bailey Company as a grinder and chipper.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Wilda Mae Blevins, sons Daryl Jay and Bert Blevins, sisters Patricia Ann Blevins, Anna Mary Riggs, and Lois King, brother Richard L. Blevins.

His survivors include two daughters Nancy L. Miller and Darla Joy Blevins both of Springfield, one son Donald E. (Ruth) Blevins of London, two brothers William M. and Harden Jr. Blevins, one sister Phyllis M. Green all of Springfield, two grandchildren Brian (Rhonda) Blevins of Kettering and Vanessa (Chip) Becker of Columbus, three great-grandchildren Emma and Jackson Becker and Matthew Blevins, several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call Wednesday from 4-8 PM in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. Services will be Thursday at 11:00 AM in the memorial home with Pastor Tad Hobart officiating. Entombment to follow in Rose Hill Mausoleum.
