Dorothy E. Bartee
Dorothy E. Bartee, 86, of Springfield, died at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, December 25, 2008 in Oakwood Village. She was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on March 23, 1922 to James and Ruth (Albrecht) Downs.
Dorothy was employed as a waitress at Yannucci's Restaurant and later retired from the V.F.W. Post 1031 after 10 years of service. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the V.F.W. Post 1031 Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include her five children and spouses, Thomas and Charlene Tosi, Sandra and Myron Nicewaner, Springfield, OH, Stephanie and Stephen Rhoades, Fairfield Glades, TN, Mike and Roxanne Bartee, Springfield and Mark and Lydia Bartee, Clarksville, VA; 15 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren;1 great granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis in 1976, a son, Paul Douglas Bartee and 3 sisters.
Friends may call in the Conroy Funeral Home from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home with Fr. Dennis Caylor officiating. The family will also receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
Memorial donations may be made to the Special Olympics.
