Carl Roth Berg
Carl Roth Berg, 30, formerly of Springfield passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 in Grant Medical Center, of injuries sustained in an accident. He was born December 29, 1977 in Springfield the son of Carl and Joyce Berg.
Carl was a 1996 graduate of Springfield North High School, where he was a member of the basketball team and the award winning drama team. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Film Analysis and Script Writing from Ohio University. He resided in Bellingham, Washington and loved the Pacific Northwest. Carl lived life with passion like no other. He had a gift of making others laugh and was a friend to all he met. He made the world a brighter place and will be greatly missed.
Carl is survived by his fiancée and partner of nine years, Michelle Schulte; parents Carl (Judy) Berg of Dublin, Ohio, Joyce (Ray Snell) Berg of Springfield; brothers Brad (Kim) Berg of Springfield, and Gavin (Gretchen) Waggoner of Ostrander, Ohio; sister Erin Waggoner of Cleveland, Ohio; nieces Ashley and Mia Berg; nephews Owen Berg, Griffin Waggoner, Patrick Langan, and Isaiah Monroe; aunts Marilyn Eubanks, Judi Camphausen, Karon (Steve) Swan; uncles David Kelly and Ron Hughes; in-laws Joseph and Kathleen Schulte, Kristine (Kijana) Monroe, Amanda (Joey) Langan, and Joey Schulte; many cousins and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dorothy Bateman, Harold Kelly, Vernon Hughes, Carl John Berg, Sr., and Margaretta Roth Berg; aunt Susan Kelly and nephew Julian Monroe.
Visitation will take place Saturday, August 30, 2008 from 11:00 AM. - 2:00 PM. in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME, 838 E. High St., Springfield, Ohio, with graveside services immediately following in Ferncliff Cemetery. A celebration of Carl's life will be held at Wittenberg University, Shouvlin Center, Room 105, 737 N. Fountain Ave., Springfield from 4-7:30 PM.
