Verna M. Alexander


Verna M. Alexander, 86, of Springfield, died Thursday July 26, 2007 in Good Shepherd Village. She was born September 8, 1920 in Athens County, Ohio, the daughter of John and Anna (Waymer) Koons.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Hughes of Powell, Ohio; son Lloyd Alexander of Oceanside, California; three sisters, Eleanor Wells of Winter Haven, Florida, Betty Miller of Springfield and Dorothy Slusser of Springfield; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lloyd Alexander Jr.; sister Evelyn Dinnen and brother John Koons.

A gathering of family and friends will be held 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday in LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday July 30, 2007, with Rev. Neil Williams, officiating. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.
