Thelma Burton-Anderson


Thelma Burton-Anderson, 94, of Lithonia, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at 9:45 p.m. She was born September 16, 1913 in Springfield, Ohio, the daughter of Eli and Sarah Haggins.

She was formerly a member of Wiley Methodist Church. She was a health spa operator for many years in Springfield, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ed Burton, former proprietor of the Burton Hotel; and second husband, Joe Anderson.

She is survived by two daughters, Joyce (Dr. Frederick) Brown and Marsha Burton; two sons, Harlen (Marlene) Burton and Charles (Donna) Burton; and one brother, Eli Haggins, 24 grandchildren; 66 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held at 2:30 p.m. with funeral services at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, 2008 at Covenant United Methodist Church, 529 W. Johnny Lytle, Springfield, OH. Burial will be held on Monday, June 30, 2008 at 10 a.m. at Ferncliff Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are being held by ROBERT C. HENRY FUNERAL HOME.
