Mary Rita Asebrook
Mary Rita Asebrook, 86, of Springfield, died at 6:52 p.m. on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 in the Springfield Regional Medical Center High St. Campus. She was born in Springfield on May 19, 1922 the daughter of Nathan and Catherine (Miller) Halk.
She was a lifelong member of St. Bernard Catholic Church and the Catholic Ladies of Columbia.
Survivors include five children and spouses, Norma & James Delabar, Dayton, Ohio, Jerome & Linda Asebrook, Nancy & James Lyons, Angela Payton, Theresa & Richard Silvers, all of Springfield; 19 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one brother and spouse, Louis & Margaret "Peggy" Halk and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. in 1992, one daughter, Barbara Campbell, one son, Robert L. Asebrook, Jr., two brothers, Nathan and Bernard Halk and two sisters, Josephine Doane and Margaret Amato.
The family would like to thank all the caretakers at Heartland of Springfield.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday in St. Bernard Catholic Church with Fr. Paul Hurst and Deacon Norm Horstman officiating. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.
