Lloyd M. Alexander III


Lloyd M. Alexander III, 67, of Oceanside, California and Springfield, died Tuesday morning, March 18, 2008 in Tri-City Hospital, San Diego.

He was born in Springfield on July 18, 1940 the son of Lloyd M. and Verna M. (Kaons) Alexander Jr.

Lloyd retired from International Truck & Engine. He had been a softball coach for the Senior Olympics, been a member of the American Quarter Horse Association, attended Plattsburg United Methodist Church, and was an avid traveler.

He is survived by four children, Lloyd M. (Lisa) Alexander IV of South Charleston and Larry (Denise) Alexander, Lyle Alexander and Lara Alexander, all of Springfield; a dear friend and companion, Dorothy Rydbeck; a sister, Barbara Hughes of Powell, Ohio; and four grandchildren, Sara, Sean, Emma, and Lloyd V .

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home with Rev. Neil Williams officiating. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.
