Harry Robert Armstrong


Harry Robert (Bob) Armstrong, 88, of Enon passed away January 11, 2009 in Patriot Ridge Nursing Home, Armstrong Road, Fairborn, Ohio. He was born August 7, 1920 in Bath Township, Ohio the son of Harry Roscoe and Martha Rae Armstrong.

He graduated from Bath Consolidated High School and was a long-time farmer in Fairborn, Ohio. He retired from Frigidaire, Dayton, Ohio. Bob was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Fairborn, and a current member of Enon United Methodist Church where he served on the Trustee Committee.

Bob was preceded in death by Charlotte, his wife of 60 years; brothers Paul, Herman, Fred Rodney, and Charles; and sisters Jeannette, Ruth, and Rae.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lora Jean and Dr. John Scott of Fort Worth, Texas; four sons and three daughters-in-law: James Michael and Pat Armstrong, Stephen Robert and Cookie Armstrong, of Enon; David Ray and Gayle Armstrong of Fairborn; and Marc Alan Armstrong of San Antonio, Texas. Also mourning his loss are grandchildren Scot, Todd, Kevin, Sean, Brett, Jason, Jared, Ashley, Megan, and Ryan Armstrong; Juan, Carmen, Dylan, and Kara Scott; and great-grandchildren Eliza, Quinn, Grace, Pierce, and August Armstrong. He will be missed by good friend Monica Hadden, and many special nieces and nephews, good friends, and neighbors.

A gathering of family and friends will be held 6-8 Friday, January 16, 2009 in the Adkins Funeral Home, Enon. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 am Saturday, January 17, 2008 in Trinity United Church of Christ, 821 North Central Avenue, Fairborn with Reverend John Konz officiating. Burial will follow the service in Clifton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ, Vitas Hospice or Enon United Methodist Church.
