Catherine Abbey
Catherine E. Griffin Abbey, 46, of Delaware, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2006 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus. Catherine was born March 11, 1960 in Youngstown, the daughter of Paul and Elizabeth (Silvashy) Griffin, Sr.
A homemaker, Catherine loved horses and dogs, she loved to cook and work on cars.
Besides her husband, Charles M. Abbey whom she married November 17, 1989, Catherine leaves her mother and two children: Shawn M. and Diana L. Abbey both of Delaware as well as two sisters: Cynthia G. Murphy of Girard and Sharlene Piper of Poland. Catherine also leaves two brothers: Eric Griffin of Campbell and Paul Griffin, Jr, of Girard. Ten nieces and nephews as well as four grand nieces and nephews also survive.
Catherine was preceded in death by her stepfather George Foy and her grandparents: Joseph H. and Violante Silvashy, and Eric and Julia Griffin. A grand-niece Skylie Catherine Griffin also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the LANE FUNERAL HOME Austintown Chapel. Friends and family may call from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
