Virginia L. Bobst


Virginia L. Bobst, 71, of Springfield, died Thursday May 29, 2008 in Springfield Regional Medical Center - Fountain Campus.

She was born April 20, 1937 in Jamestown, Ohio, the daughter of Russell and Thelma (Patterson) Newton.

She was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church. Virginia worked as a buyer for Wren's Department Store for twenty-three years.

Survivors include her mother of Jamestown; a son and daughter-in-law; Randy and Kim Bobst; daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Will Knasel all of Springfield; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Russell and Shirley Newton of Xenia; Billy and Tish Newton of Richmond, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Lauren (Mick) Knasel-Wingert of Melbourne, Australia, Kelsey Knasel of Lexington, Kentucky and Jacob Bobst of Springfield; lifelong friend, Bonnie McQuirt of Springfield.

She was preceded in death by her father and husband William Bobst.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Sunday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday June 2, 2008 in Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1801 St. Paris Pike, with Pastor Daniel Powell, officiating.

Burial will be in Silvercreek Cemetery, Jamestown, Ohio.
