Allen H. "Bud" Brain, Jr.


Allen H. "Bud" Brain, Jr., 81 of Springfield passed away January 1, 2008 in the Mercy Medical Center.

He was born November 1, 1926 in Springfield, Ohio, the son of Allen H. Brain, Sr. and Katherine H. (Haering) Brain.

Bud graduated from Randolph Macon Military Academy in Front Royal, Virginia and also attended The Ohio State University and Wittenberg University. He was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from Brain Lumber Company where he was President and General Manager.

Survivors include two sisters and brothers-in-law, Joan and The Reverend Canon Charles Cason of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and Constance and Fred Pesek of Brecksville, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Harriette F. Brain in November of 1997; and sister, Martha Dengate in March of 2007.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2008 from 10-11 a.m. in the Christ Episcopal Church, 409 East High Street, Springfield. Funeral services will being at 11 a.m. in the church with The Reverend Charlotte Reed officiating. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made in memory of Allen H Brain, Jr. to The Nature Conservancy, 4245 North Fairfax Drive, Suite 100, Arlington, Virginia 22203-1606.

The family is being served by the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.
